Type 302 stainless steel is an austenitic alloy of 18 percent chromium and 8 percent nickel. Due to these two added elements, T302 stainless steel spring wire is the most popular stainless steel in manufacturing springs because of its excellent corrosion resistance as well as high tensile strength. Meets with ASTM-A-313 and AMS-5688. Diameters of spring wire range from 0.001” to 0.625”.
